As Government figures
reveal the most significant rise in burglaries and knife-point
robberies in seven years, and the Government admits people will be
worried about the effect of the recession on crime, more and more
people are looking for alternative ways to secure themselves and
their homes.
Charles Wall MBIPDT,
owner of A1K9, and Britain’s most professional trainer of personal
protection dogs, said:
“If the police are so
busy reducing easy-to-solve crime to levels that hide a surge in
burglary, who do you think is coming to your aid when it happens to
you?
“The Government’s
reputation on crime statistics is shot. There is much more
justification for people’s fear of crime than they will ever
realise.
“Enquiries and sales of
trained personal protection dogs are at an all time high. Enquiries
have trebled in the last year alone.
“I am talking daily to
people who have either been victims of a violent burglary or attack
or who have good reason to fear such an attack. They understand
that at the critical moment, the Police will not and cannot be by
their side and a trained dog has the potential to tilt the balance
back in their favour.
“These figures reflect
an increase in real attacks on real people that leave victims
traumatised and devastated. We hear the most terrible stories of
violent burglaries in the home where people are left to the mercy of
their attackers.
“Crucially, many
criminals now target people specifically when they are at home, so
that, once intimidated or subdued by force, the victim will provide
the codes and keys to disarm ever more sophisticated security
systems guarding cars, property and personal valuables.”
A1K9 dogs undergo expert
training for up to a year depending on the personal circumstances of
their future owner and thereafter offer exceptional peace of mind
for businessmen and their families, who are themselves given
extensive handler training to ensure the necessary handling skills
are passed on.
Charles continued, “In
the last 10 years of training and supplying these dogs, A1K9
customers report that most attacks have been deterred and others
have been successfully defended.
“Insurance may replace
belongings but nothing restores confidence. A trained dog buys a
peace of mind that no other security system provides.”
